What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is an allied healthcare approach that considers the whole person, aiming to support movement, function, and overall well-being. Osteopaths assess physical, psychological, and social factors that may affect health and tailor a treatment plan to address individual needs.
Treatment may include hands-on techniques, specific rehabilitative exercises, lifestyle advice, and pain education. These approaches are based on current evidence and aim to address symptoms and reduce future recurrence.
Sandy is a compassionate and personable osteopath, recognised for her holistic approach and commitment to patient-centred care.
Her treatment approach combines hands-on techniques such as soft-tissue release, joint mobilisation, visceral and craniosacral therapy, alongside lifestyle and exercise advice. With a background in fitness and Pilates, she integrates movement and rehabilitation to help patients return to the activities they love.
Sandy holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Medical Science, Clinical Science and Osteopathic Medicine, with further training in external and internal pelvic health to support patients with pelvic pain, incontinence, prolapse, and women’s health needs through pregnancy, postpartum and menopause. She also has a keen interest in sleep, breathing and TMJ issues, with further training in cranial-assisted frenectomies and associated post-procedure rehabilitation. She works collaboratively with GPs, naturopaths, acupuncturists, dentists and specialists to provide tailored, integrative care.
Outside the clinic, Sandy enjoys the gym, playing golf badly and a good book.
