Temporomandibular Disorder

TMD is a common condition, signs of which appear in up to 60–70% of the population.

Jaw pain, difficulty opening the mouth, clicking, popping or crepitus within the jaw itself and brief locking on opening and closure are often reported symptoms.

TMD & Headaches, particularly Tension Type (pain band across your forehead) commonly co-exist.

Women are more likely to experience TMD than men.

Estrogen plays a significant role in TMD related pain. Elevated inflammatory factors and decreased progesterone levels also contribute.
